PTS to Exhibit at Global Offshore Wind 2019

18 June 2019

Port Training Services will be exhibiting at RenewableUK’s Global Offshore Wind 2019 conference at ExCel London on 25-26th June.

Port Training Services (PTS) is a specialist training provider delivering fully accredited, industry recognised qualifications for companies and individuals serving the Port & Marine, Warehousing & Logistics, Heavy Industry, Subsea and Offshore Energy sectors.

An award winning training arm of the Port of Blyth, PTS offer a high quality, cost effective and professional service that is focused on improving the knowledge, skills and competence of your workforce, whilst always prioritising the importance of safer working environments.

Ideally situated mid-way between Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth and with a long track record in the wind sector, Port of Blyth is now regarded as one of the UK’s leading offshore energy support bases, with PTS’s training expertise a key part of their offering.

A visionary skills partnership with Newcastle College will soon see PTS hosting high quality training programmes with direct pathways into the offshore energy sector, the North East’s fastest growing industry, with the first intake of students taking their first steps to an exciting career in September 2019.

Delivered from PTS’s facilities within the Port of Blyth, this programme offers students the opportunity for easy access, locally taught industry qualifications within the heart of industry with access to active industry equipment and engineering expertise to prepare students for their progression into apprenticeships and jobs in the offshore energy sector.

Meanwhile, the organisation’s Wind Turbine Training Facility is currently under construction. Supported by the Coastal Communities Fund, this truly unique, open access facility based within the Port of Blyth offers a simulated training environment for those looking to progress into the sector and those who currently operate in the sector looking to further enhance their skills.

The combination of the port’s sector experience with a mature on-site supply chain, significant land development opportunities and PTS’ training capabilities make the Blyth estuary a highly attractive proposition for expanding companies in the wind sector.
