NPORS Abrasive Wheels Awareness Course
The aim of this course is to provide the theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the safe use of Abrasive Wheels, including identifying potential hazards and necessary precautions.

At the end of course delegates will be able to:
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operative
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook and be familiar with other sources of information available including relevant legislation
- Locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements plus safety checks and safety zone
- Understand environmental considerations
- Safe storage / transport of abrasive wheel machine
- Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
