At the end of course delegates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operative
  • Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook and be familiar with other sources of information available including relevant legislation
  • Locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
  • Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturer’s and legislative requirements plus safety checks and safety zone
  • Understand environmental considerations
  • Safe storage / transport of abrasive wheel machine
  • Carry out all end of shift and shut down procedures
